Kartchner Caverns

SANYO DIGITAL CAMERA Two years ago I visited the Kartchner Caverns State Park near Benson, Arizona. Today, I’m camp hosting in the East Loop campground. It’s been one week and I’m just starting to get up to speed with the place. Like so many Arizona State Parks, Kartchner finds itself with limited funds to operate. Thanks to the organization, Friends of Kartchner Caverns and a 90% volunteer work force, it’s able to stay in operation with not much more than entrance fees.  Visit Kartchner Caverns!

During my short time here I’m hoping to work in the caverns and possibly do some spherical photography for the Kartchner website. Because the park is concerned about who has cave access this may not happen easily.
