Spent the night at Camping World in Mesa, Arizona waiting for replacement of the wind damaged slide awning. Staying behind a store for the evening could be scary for some but at closing the workers at CW were good enough to hook us up to their 30 amp power for the night. Very thoughtful and all for free. Thank You CW!! In case you’re wondering the view from my desk shows we are also camped across from the Maricopa County Department of Justice and Sheriff’s Office. Safe camping at it’s best. Behind the store, in front of the repair bay doors were Blue and I in the “Starship Enterprise” and Ricki Letowt (and her “cat”) in a Mini Winnie. Ricki was waiting to have an inverter repaired or replaced… Camping World replaced it with a new one.

Both of us are solo RVer’s. I have Blue and Ricki has an unnamed fake cat who is so noisy with it’s electronic Meeeows, Ricki had to take the batteries out. I swear, the cat looks like a REAL cat stuffed but Ricki says it’s just a stuffed TOY cat.
Ricki’s an adventurous lady who travels to warmer places in the winter and operates a cottage business in Maine during the summer. No….really…it’s a cottage business…a rental company called Ricki’s Place in Old Orchards Beach, ME. She rents out little cottages on the Maine shoreline. She and I share a Hollywood connection. We both lived and worked there in the early to mid 70’s. Ricki travels extensively in her RV and I wish her email blog was public because it’s packed with images and detailed descriptions of the places she visits. Thank You Ricki, in joining me for cherry turnovers and a couple of caramel flans BUT most of all thank you for a fun evening of conversation. I hope we meet up again. From Phoenix Ricki heads to Tucson and ultimately Maine. We head off to Buckeye, AZ before we move on to Zion next week.
