If you read this blog you know my pup passed away 2 months ago. I still mourn the loss of my buddy, Mac. He was a faithful friend and constant companion at home and work for 12 years. Now, I’ve been blessed with another pup from Mac’s original owners, Mack and Patty Ledgerwood of Pasco, Washington. Meet Legacy’s True Blue, a year old Miniature Schnauzer with a show biz background. Blue was raised and groomed to be a show dog and possibly spend his life in Australia to become part of a breeding line in that country. Fortunately for me, it wasn’t in his stars to continue in that line of work, so his brother, Robin took his place. You can see Robin and his latest "Best of Breed" win on the Legacy website. Mack and Patty asked if I was interested in having another Miniature Schnauzer as a companion dog. So, a week ago I flew to Pasco to meet and, if he agreed, pickup Blue and fly him back to Zion National Park. Although he looks a lot like Mac, he is the polar opposite in personality. Mac was a laid back pup whereas Blue is a rough and tumble, busy pup. Mac was along for the ride, Blue is in the drivers seat, literally. He regularly stands in the drivers seat with his little legs on the steering wheel to remind me he’s the one in charge. This is going to be fun. I can’t express in words how grateful I am to have such a handsome pup step into Mac’s footprints and Blue agrees.
Blue Meets Bella
This is the first video of Blue in Zion. It’s not too exiting but he is meeting new friends. Amber and Keith are park rangers who knew Mac and now Blue. They wanted Blue to meet their dog, Bella. Mac met Bella last year and the reaction wasn’t quite as active as Blue’s this year.
We have visitors for the next couple of days. Zoey and Lee Burbank, friends from Portland are visiting Zion on their way to Arizona. I’ll be joining Lee, Zoey and another friend, Joyce there later this year. Zoey and Blue took to each other like they were old friends.
