During the last four years I’ve never seen it so green in Zion at this time of year. Late summer and early fall rains contribute to this and the temperatures are still very comfortable during the day. The wider swings between day and night temps though are slowly bringing the winter.
South Campground is will close in 2 weeks and the numbers dwindle. I’m looking forward to watching how the park changes in winter. It’ll be my first winter here and I’m not sure what to expect. Some old timers say it’s very mild, others say it gets really cold. We’ll see in the coming four months.
