Easter at Legacy Miniature Schnauzers
Mac (Legacy’s Mackay), my nearly 12 year old puppy companion, was born in Pasco, Washington in the home of Mack and Patty Ledgerwood owners of Legacy Miniature Schnauzers. Because we have become such good friends over the years, Mack and Patty have invited us to spend time with them during holidays. This year Easter was special because there was a new litter of puppies born of Carry. She’s a sweet little girl and a good mom to her pups. She instinctively trains the puppies to nurse in different positions as she lies down, then stands up and then sits. This is the way puppies quickly develop their leg muscles in order to walk. She’ll often let them nurse for a moment then she’ll move to the other side of the crate forcing the puppies to follow her.
Carrie nursing her 11 day old puppies. There are four boys and two girls from CH Legacy’s Carry On, “Carrie”. Their eyes will soon start opening and they are just beginning to toddle around.

Leaving Arizona and Heading to Oregon
There was a lot of thought as to whether to take I-5 North to Sacramento or take Hwy 99. Some of my fellow RVers mentioned I-5 is like driving on a washboard, bump, bump, bump for 200 miles. I decided to take Hwy 40 out of Arizona then Hwy 58 to Bakersfield and then give Hwy 99 a try. Although, short parts of the road were rough or under repair, the trip north was smooth going and pleasant. Near Sacramento the traffic picked up but never slowed down.
